Introduction

Temperamento ("we", "our", or "us") built VKO1 as a commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use VKO1 on iOS, iPadOS, or macOS.

We respect your privacy. VKO1 is designed to operate entirely on your device with no data collection whatsoever.

Information We Collect

None. VKO1 does not collect any personal information or usage data. Specifically:

• No personal data (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No crash reports sent to us
• No device identifiers or fingerprinting
• No location data
• No cookies or tracking technologies
• No advertising identifiers

Your Content

VKO1 accesses video clips, GIFs, and images that you choose to import into the app. This content:

• Remains entirely on your device
• Is never uploaded to any server
• Is never shared with us or any third party
• Is only accessed when you explicitly import it into the app

Local Network & Device-to-Device Sync

VKO1 offers an optional dual-device sync feature that uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity framework to connect two devices over your local Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth.

• Communication happens directly between your two devices
• No data passes through any external server
• Only playback state is transmitted (active pads, BPM, effects) — never your actual media files
• The connection requires your explicit opt-in via Controller/Display mode

MIDI & External Devices

VKO1 can connect to MIDI controllers and external displays via USB, Bluetooth, or HDMI. These connections are local hardware connections only. No data from these connections is collected, stored, or transmitted externally.

Microphone Access

VKO1 may request microphone access for the optional Beat Detection feature, which listens to ambient audio to detect BPM in real-time. Audio from the microphone:

• Is processed entirely on-device in real-time
• Is never recorded, stored, or transmitted
• Is used solely to detect musical tempo
• Access can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings

Third-Party Services

VKO1 does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use any SDKs that collect user data.

Data Storage

Session data and app preferences are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. This data is not accessible to us and is removed when you delete the app.

Children's Privacy

VKO1 does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected, no special provisions are necessary under COPPA or similar regulations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Given that VKO1 collects no data, changes are unlikely to be substantive.
